We are proud to have built a supportive and inclusive community of yogis at every level at Astoria Yoga. If you've never stepped on a mat before, we recommend our newcomer class, Yoga Foundations, where you can learn the very basics in a gentle and slow-paced environment. Our Restorative class is also perfect for beginners. You are also welcome to try any open-level class, just let the instructor know that you're new!
You are welcome to bring your own mat with you, or we have mats available to rent for $5 (mat rental is complimentary on your first visit). Wear comfortable, breathable clothing that you can move in, being mindful that looser fits may get in your way during down dog or inversions. You can bring a water bottle to fill up here at our filtered station. We have all the props you'll need like blocks, straps, blankets, and bolsters.
We respect the practice of everyone in the room by honoring time. Please plan to arrive early, at least 5 minutes before class starts (or more, if it's your first time to the studio), to allow us time to check you in and get you settled into the studio with ease, so you can let the instructor know of any injuries, conditions, or if it's your first class. All classes start promptly and late entry is not always permitted, as the doors are sometimes locked once class has begun.
You can cancel your yoga class up to 4 hours before start time. Either cancel it through your account on StudioGrowth or you can email to let us know you won't be making it, and the class credit will remain available to use toward a future class. If you do not cancel and do not inform us you cannot attend class 4 hours before class, the credit will be marked as used (consideration can be given for any emergencies that arise).
